About the Workshop
Workshop Aim
My aim with this workshop is to help you put together the pieces of your puzzle and demystify how your past may be having a very direct influence on your chronic fatigue now.
You will learn how to gently explore the links between your past and your present health and wellbeing.
You'll also hear more about how it's possible to overcome your past experiences and the changes this can bring about for your chronic fatigue.
At the end of the workshop, there will be a Q&A session for you to get any questions answered.
Trauma...
We tend to think of the word ‘trauma’ being applied to something that's big: a major incident, a dramatic accident, something that's particularly morally shocking, or a serious abuse situation.
The fact that we tend to come across people talking about ‘trauma’ in relation to these big events can make us feel as though the experiences we've had as a child don't really count as ‘trauma’ because they haven't fallen into the ‘big’ definition.
Actually, ‘trauma’ refers to anything that causes a stress response, such as
- · a deeply distressing or disturbing experience or
- · a physical, emotional, mental of spiritual injury.
You may not think about your experiences in the past as "trauma" or "traumatic" because for you, they were just the norm or just things that happened.
As a result, you may not be aware of how significantly your stress response(s) can be continuing to influence your body and contributing to your fatigue, or, what you can do to change it.
Rest assured that it is possible to alter the impact your past has on your present.
Staying Safe...
You may be concerned that a workshop like this feels like you're opening a can of worms, especially if this is an area that you've been wary of looking into because it feels too painful.
I'm mentioning this because I would really love for you to be reassured that however you feel about looking into the link between your past and your chrionic fatigue, this workshop will be a very gentle exploration.
I am fully conscious that many people with chronic fatigue conditions are highly sensitive so I will not be sharing any shocking material or challenging stories.
The workshop will be on Zoom - you will have control over whether you turn your camera on or leave it off. There will not be any requirement for you to speak or contribute unless you should want to do so.
The chat box will be open for people to note any questions which I will pick up at the end of the webinar in the Q&A section.
You may stay for as much or as little of the webinar as feels appropriate for you.
